A traditional form,
an unsettled world.
Gillani's practice is rooted in the discipline of miniature painting while looking directly at contemporary life. His imagery turns the picture plane into a space of confrontation — where the inner self meets forces of temptation, morality, power and belief.
Geometry, repeated marks, symbolic figures and cosmic architectures become visual devices for questions that are psychological as much as spiritual.

BIOGRAPHY
Between the atelier
and the screen.
Born in 1996, Ali Gillani is a Lahore-based visual artist whose formal education includes Fine Arts at Government College University and a BFA with honours in Miniature Painting from the National College of Arts, Lahore.
His studio practice sits alongside a multidisciplinary career in concept art, illustration, storyboarding and art direction. He has worked as a senior concept artist with Disney and is associated with Artductive Studio, a creative practice working across game art, illustration and advertising.
